Realizing our Epistemologies in Writing: A Creative Research Methods Workshop

In this workshop, participants will dedicate time to working on work in progress or in the early stages of inception. Participants will be guided through identifying common ground among the projects in the room as well as a brief introduction to some creative research methods grounded in writing practices that could help move each participant forward with their writing. This will take the form of descriptions of methods as well as writing prompts. After carrying out the prompts, there will be dedicated writing time to write into the projects participants have brought to the workshop, which will then followed by brief sharing back to the group. Finally, there will be an optional writing retreat for those who wish to continue writing into their projects to do so, as well as to solicit perspective and guidance from the workshop facilitator, writer and geographer Maya Weeks. Please bring what you need to work on your project; the more specific your project is at the beginning of the workshop, the more generative your experience is likely to be.
